Camp Nelson forested area (Sequoia N.F.)

The chapter usually meets in/or near Porterville, but once a year it meets in Lake Isabella and Bakersfield. In 2004 the chapter hosted a media event to educate their local press. Press members from the Porterville Recorder, Bakersfield Californian and the Visalia Times Delta attended. The chapter also awards a scholarship to a deserving Bakersfield College student each year and runs a Forestry Booth at the Tulare County Science and Conservation Annual fundraiser lunch near Springville. In addition the chapter has provided input to Forest Plans such as the Sequoia National Monument Plan and The Sierra Nevada Revised Plan. They raise funds through an annual Yard Sale and by providing a Christmas tree pick-up service in Porterville.
