Northern California Society of American Foresters

Annually the Northern California Society of American Foresters provides recognition to an individual and Chapter for outstanding service to the Society and forestry profession. Every member of SAF has the opportunity to initiate the nomination of a peer, mentor or professional whom they admire for their knowledge of forestry, ability to promote the profession, or their commitment and leadership. Nominations are due to the State Society Chair or Awards Committee Chair by October 1. The winners are recognized at the annual Winter Meeting held in January.


	Forestry Achievement Award
	The NorCal SAF Forestry Achievement Award is an award to recognize annually an individual that has served NorCal SAF, the profession of forestry-at large and their employer in a selfless manner with distinction. 	Local NorCal SAF Chapter Award
	The NorCal SAF Chapter Award is a rotating award for the outstanding chapter in NorCal each year that is based upon the level and extent of the activity of chapter members supporting state and national SAF programs and activities in addition to the memberships’ participation in community chapter activities, and continuing education for the year ending September 30th of each year. A large redwood burl plaque with an engraved plate listing the winning chapters is rotated amongst the winning Chapters.
