A few NorCal SAF executive committee members organize a "Forestry 101" course for the state legislators every year. The course is conducted at the state capital with a morning session and afternoon session. The goals are to; 1) give the legislators a foundational education in forestry, 2) educate the state legislators about forest management current issues, and 3) facilitate a meas to establish good working relationships with the policy decision makers.
